Manipulators, retrofitting and assistance: a winning mix
Boma’s catalogue has been enhanced with a fourth series of robots recommended for the combined injection molding machine up to 2000 tons. Design, production and assistance are other flagships to be exploited, with the support of a sales network in constant growth.
In Salzano, based in the metropolitan city of Venice, Boma srl offers thirty years of experience in the field of industrial automation for the plastics sector, which results in a specialised production of Cartesian robots, complete automation systems on request, and special end-of-arm tools. In addition, the company also offers retrofitting service and the sale of second-hand robots. The guaranteed and excellent level of assistance, characterized by flexibility and total availability for its customers, complete the picture of the Venetian company, that is bound to expand its clientele with ever more international aspirations.
“We started offering revamping service for older robots”, says the owner of Boma, Alessio Bonaldo, “then, we introduced the production of our new manipulators. Now, we offer both solutions”.
The range of robots
Regarding the company range of products, Boma offers various sizes robots, continues Bonaldo: “A new Boma robot series has been released, which includes QX1, QX2 and QX3 manipulators combined with IMM from 80 to 900 tons, and the new entry QX4 manipulator combined with IMM up to 2000 tons. Today, on this trade we can’t speak of particular innovative features: the mechanical parts are always similar to each other. But I want to emphasize that other manufactures use steel and aluminium, unlike us, because we only use steel for the structure and also the robot programming is free. However, we distinguish ourselves by the versatility in producing the automations according to the customer’s needs: we offer a complete customization with various axis length, optional extras and all kinds of modifications on request. So, in summary, we don’t have a standard product”.
The retrofit activity
Retrofitting consists in overhaul outdates robots’ customers, preserving mechanical components as much as possible: “Someone wants to spend a little less: in this case we can offer a not complete retrofitting, for example with the preservation of the electrical panel. We can make it with all sizes manipulators.
Special achievements
Boma demanded also for customized products: “In response to specific client request we can design and produce complete automation systems custom-made, special grippers and other integrations. One of our flagships is represented by the customer care: to produce customized articles and for qualified and constant technical assistance. We also have a large spare parts and accessories stock at disposal, including electrical and pneumatic components, for all urgencies”.
An excellent 2021 and programs for 2022
2021 was a very good year, concludes Bonaldo: “It was an explosive year with several orders collected, and we already have a good order portfolio forecasted even up to April 2022. From this year we will also focus on commercial and sales area: to increase our visibility throughout Italy and then abroad. we have not yet planned a fair-trade activity: we will definitely take part at the next”.
